The S.A.E. – The Counselling Services in Espinho – offer the right support to families having relatives addicted to drugs, alcohol and other types of addictions by heading their treatment towards their recovery and their social and professional reintegration.

In order to accomplish their goals the S.A.E. promote:

• Initiatives together with reliable entities for the treatment and recovery of people addicted to alcohol and drugs;
• Cooperation agreements for the admission of people needing our services, namely psychosocial treatment and family, social and professional reintegration support;
• Counselling directed to companies, institutions, schools and communities on the creation, implementation and development of prevention programmes against alcohol, drug and medicine abuse;
• The intervention, management, follow-up and sorting towards the corresponding services or specialized treatment;
• The creation and development of preventive and pro-health actions;
• The coordination of work groups and support groups in the institution;
• The sensibilization and training of professional linked to the fields of Human Resources, Social Service, Occupational Health and Safety at Work, enabling them to identify, sort out and follow the cases;
• Trainers, supervisors and prevention operators training both for the Alcoholism and the Drug Addiction;
• The specialization in chemical dependence and other addictions and their treatment;
• The specialization in intervention and relapse prevention both for the Alcoholism and Drug Addiction;
• The specialization and training for counselling on chemical dependence and other addictions;
• The individual, group and multi-faceted team supervision, continuous training.
